www.joiff.com The Organisation for Emergency Services Management
The organisation comprises primarily fire specialists from within the international oil, gas and chemical industry and members are drawn from around the world.
One of the very important benefits of JOIFF Membership is "Shared Learning", the exchange of information on incidents and other matters of relevance to the workplace of JOIFF Members. The Executive of JOIFF is conscious of its obligations to ensure accuracy, reliability of information and professionalism of comment in any information circulated and therefore all official JOIFF "Shared Learning" emails are issued by the JOIFF Secretary.
JOIFF encourages the sharing of information and therefore endorses onward cascades of this information.
Thanks to the positive input of a growing number of Members, this aspect of the Organisation is a most important part of the benefit of Membership of JOIFF and the organisation hopes to see it growing even more as JOIFF expands and as more and more Members contribute information.
As JOIFF is concerned that it works to the highest levels of safety and professionalism the JOIFF policy on training, which we consider to be current "Best Industry Practice", is available from the JOIFF website.
JOIFF has developed a recommended training path for all levels of emergency responders which is based on JOIFF accredited training programmes where training takes place primarily on the Company site using the Company equipment, supplemented with specialist support by training courses at JOIFF accredited training establishments. Utilising this system of modular training is a most cost effective form of training emergency response teams.
This training programme has been developed to offer a path to the award of United Kingdom National Vocational Qualifications (NVQs) for the Fire Sector and all current Fire Sector NVQs are JOIFF accredited.
